- 1). Measure and cut the 2x4s approximately 3 feet in length for each of the four legs. Be sure that each leg is evenly cut and that they are all exactly the same measurement - otherwise, the workbench may end up being uneven.
- 2). Cut the plywood to a 3 ft.x4 ft. dimension. Sand any rough edges or spots.
- 3). Nail each of the four legs into the bottom of the plywood. Nail the leg through the top.
- 4). Measure up 6 to 8 inches from the bottom of each leg and install a shelf bracket on each leg. Place the other piece of 1/4-in plywood that is 35 in. x 47 in. on top of the shelf brackets.
- 5). Install the 3 ft.x 4 ft. plywood to the back of the working surface by using three to four hinge brackets to help keep it in place.
- 6). Attach the cork board to the front of the piece of plywood with glue.
- 7). Paint the workbench. Allow the paint to dry for at least 24 hours and then apply a sealant coat to help protect the paint from chipping or becoming damaged.
