- 1). Configure the controls properly. Hit "Power" to start the control panel then turn the "Sensor Cycles" dial to a cycle suited to your clothes. Note that "Air Fluff" and "Warm Up" are not intended for drying clothes. Turn the "Sensor Dry" dial to the level of drying you need at the end of the cycle--the dryer automatically detects when your clothes are ready. Adjust the "Dry Temp" if dial if necessary and hit "Start/Pause" to begin. Make sure "Delay Start" isn't selected if you plan on drying right away.
- 2). Hold down the "Lock" button for three seconds until the LED light goes out. Only the "Power" button works while the child lock is running; you won't be able to change the dryer's settings or start a cycle. This feature protects children playing near the dryer.
- 3). Make sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet. The circuit breaker or fuse might require attention if the outlet isn't supplying electricity. GE Profile washers with a steam-dry function have a cold water supply hose at the back; make sure it isn't kinked and the shut-off valve is completely open.
- 4). Open and tightly close the dryer door and press "Start/Pause." Make sure clothes don't flop into the door frame when you open the door and block the latch. Press the "Start/Pause" button each time you add a new item to resume the cycle.
- 5). Empty the drum and load fewer clothes. Never load more than one washer load into the dryer at the same time. Heavy blankets or sheets should be dried with a few small items for balance. Do not pack the drum with clothes; your clothes should move around during the cycle.
- 6). Unplug the dryer and wait 30 seconds; a computer fault or power surge could be stopping the dryer. The internal computer restarts itself once the power is reconnected. Try entering your drying instructions as in step one again once the power is reconnected.
