Sri Lankan Air - Takes Care of All Your Travel Needs

Established in 1979 under the name Air Lanka, Sri Lankan Air is the national flag carrier of Sri Lanka with its base and hub both located at the Bandaranaike International Airport in the capital city of Colombo. It offers domestic and international flights to 69 destinations. Sri Lankan Air 226 operates flights from Dubai to Colombo on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. It leaves from Dubai at 10.45 pm and reaches Colombo at 4.55 am. Sri Lankan Air 532 operates flights on Wednesday and Saturday, which departs from Dubai at 11.45 pm and reaches Colombo at 5.30 am. From Abu Dhabi there are two daily flights to Colombo

Booking of tickets is possible on the website of the airline and other travel and tourism sites. The websites offer all details about the flights, the schedules, route map, seat availability, and so on. You can book or cancel tickets, check your PNR status and avail several offers and rewards. The payment is made through credit cards, which needs to be verified at the airport. In case the card holder is not traveling, the payment needs to be authenticated beforehand.

There are two classes of travel in the airline, which are the Business Class and the Economy Class. The seats are comfortable and adjustable, making you feel relaxed. You have a wide range of dishes to choose from the international cuisines, and every 45 minutes between the meals you are served refreshments. The cabin is spacious with enough legroom and the staff very friendly and helpful. Movies, music, video games and air show are the other features in the flight.

The checked-in luggage allowance provided by the airline is a maximum of 30 kg per guest in the Economy Class and 40 kg per guest in Business Class. If you carry more than the weight specified, you will have to pay extra charges. According to the cabin luggage policy, passengers in the Economy Class are allowed to carry one piece of cabin luggage weighing 7 kg, while those traveling in the Business Class are allowed to carry two pieces of cabin luggage, each weighing 7 kg.

The Business Class passengers are requested to check in 60 minutes prior to the departure of the flights. Now check-in and boarding is made simple for the Business Class passengers through the €Silk Route Lounge'. The check-in counters for the Economy Class passengers open from 3 hrs to 1 hr prior to the departure of the flight. The online check-in is possible 48 hours before the scheduled time for departure of the flight.

Sri Lankan Air provides special care for those who need special assistance like physically challenged passengers, pregnant women, minors traveling alone and other such passengers. If you need a wheelchair at the airport, you can request so at the time you book your tickets.
