- 1). Fill the sink with hot water. Add a few drops of dish soap.
- 2). Remove the broiler pan from the oven. Make sure that the pan is cool before cleaning.
- 3). Saturate the pan in the sink of water. Allow it to soak for at least one hour.
- 4). Scrub the broiler pan with a rag and the soapy water. Use a plastic pan scraper to scrape off as much of the debris as possible. Rinse the pan in plain water and dry thoroughly with a rag. Soap and water is effective at cleaning broiler pans that are only slightly dirty.
- 5). Use ammonia if the broiler pan is still dirty. Fill the sink with 1 gallon of hot water. Add ½ cup of household ammonia.
- 6). Soak the pan in the sink for 20 minutes. Scrub the pan with a scouring pad.
- 7). Wash the pan in warm soapy water to remove any traces of the ammonia. Rinse with plain water and completely dry the pan.
- 1). Sprinkle powdered laundry detergent over the broiler pan. Apply a generous amount of detergent to the pan and cover with damp paper towels.
- 2). Allow it to set for at least an hour. Wash the pan with a scouring pad and hot, soapy water. Rinse with plain water and dry thoroughly.
- 3). Saturate the broiler pan with oven cleaner as a last resort for cleaning. Spray a generous coating of oven cleaner onto the pan. Place the pan in a garbage bag and tie the bag tightly.
- 4). Allow the pan to sit in the bag overnight. Wipe down the pan the next day with a damp rag. Wash the pan in hot, soapy water. Rinse with plain water and dry thoroughly.
