Have you ever been through the struggle of trying to lose weight? Did you find yourself frustrated that you had to be very strict with your eating and weren't allowed to have any of the foods you really craved? Well there is some hope! Having a cheat day in your diet is the answer.
In fact it could be the missing piece in your fat loss equation.
Incorporating cheat days when you are trying to lose fat do a number of things.
First of all they give you a mental break from your diet.
It gives you a chance to break free from the restraints placed upon you in the eating plan you are following.
All of the foods you have been craving can be saved up for this day and you can have at it! The other important reason why cheat days are so effective in helping you to lose that bit of extra body fat is that they will help to boost your metabolism and break the routine your body and metabolism have established with a diet.
By giving your body a blast of extra calories it will think that the 'famine' is over and will be happy to start burning off all of this new excess food.
A number of hormone levels, such as lepetin, change to make this happen and if you leave the cheating to one day, these hormone changes will still be in place when you get back to your usual eating routine.
Normal eating plus elevated fat burning hormones equals even more fat loss! There are a number of methods of incorporating cheat days but one thing remains consistent throughout all of the readings.
For this method to be effective you must be strict for the remaining days for this to work for fat loss.
Strict seems a bit of a harsh word to use, but you need to stay on track for the time before and after increasing your calorie intake otherwise you will just end up gaining more weight.
Be honest with yourself and if you haven't stayed on the straight and narrow, don't add the cheat day in there.
So instead of just grinding away, eating less and less, getting more and more frustrated and getting into an endless cycle that isn't effective, start to incorporate a cheat day once every week.
You will start to notice the results almost immediately and your mind and body will thank you!
