- 1). Clean the chipped area with a rag dampened with rubbing alcohol. Remove any porcelain particles inside the chip by hand.
- 2). Allow the area to dry completely. Aim a hair dryer at the tile to ensure a dry surface.
- 3). Mix the contents of the porcelain repair kit as instructed by the manufacturer.
- 4). Use the small paint brush or spatula that comes with the kit, or one of your own, to fill in the chip. Use the filler sparingly, and use a flat edged tool such as a putty knife to smooth out the top of filled area to make it even with the rest of the tile.
- 5). Allow the filler to dry per the manufacturer's instructions, at least 15 minutes. Sand the filled area lightly to ensure that it is flush with the surrounding area. Wipe away sanding dust and apply a thin coat of touch-up paint. If the kit did not come with paint, use an epoxy paint to do the job.
