On average when most people think of dieting they think that they have to eliminate all fat from their diet or they won't lose any weight.
Fat has become a four letter word when it comes to losing weight.
What most people don't realize is that there are several different kinds of fat and some fat is needed in our diet.
Unfortunately bad diet fat is more readily available to us in convenience foods.
These convenience foods consist of snacks, fast foods, candies, etc.
They are called convenience foods because they are easily found and easy to consume.
They are everywhere.
They are also loaded with bad diet fat.
Good diet fat is readily available also but it takes a little more planning on your part to consume these types of fat.
Good diet fat is fat that is OK for you to eat and is part of a well-balanced diet.
There are many foods that contain good diet fat and all of them are available at your local grocer.
Don't be tricked into thinking you have to buy a special diet meal plan to find them.
It's just not true! Are any fats good? Yes.
They are called polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats.
Check food labels to see what percentage of the total fat is poly or monounsaturated.
Foods that contain these good diet fats are fish, sunflower oil, Omega 3, nuts, olive oil and avocado's.
There are many more.
Bad diet fats are those called saturated or trans fats.
If the food you want contains a high or higher percentage of saturated and trans fats compared to poly and monounsaturated fats then it is not a good choice.
Look for something else.
Having some fat in your diet is good and that fat should be good diet fat as described above.
When you need to add fat to your diet don't reach for a bag of chips.
This is the bad diet fat and although they taste great they are very bad for you.
