- 1). Check the power cord. Make sure it is firmly plugged into the wall outlet.
- 2). Plug another device into the same outlet. If this device does not work, check the breaker box to make sure a switch was not tripped.
- 3). Check the batteries in the remote control if you are attempting to turn the television on with the remote. Make sure the batteries are positioned properly. Replace the batteries with new ones if you fear the batteries are dead.
- 4). Clear the area between the remote control sensor and the sensor on the television. An obstruction can make it difficult to turn on the TV.
- 5). Plug the television into another wall outlet.
