- 1). Make sure that your oven and stove knobs are turned off.
- 2). Make sure there are no gas fumes in the air. Open your windows for a while to ventilate if necessary.
- 3). Open the bottom panel of your oven to see if the pilot light is there. On some ovens the pilot light is located in the broiler section of the oven.
- 4). If you don't see the pilot light, locate the gas supply tube and it should lead you to the pilot light. On some models you may have to slide the flame spreader panel out to get to the pilot light. It may be a good idea to clean the top of your pilot light tube with a wire brush or a toothbrush. Over time grease and debris may build up around your pilot light making it hard to stay lit.
- 5). Use your long trigger-style lighter to relight the pilot light
- 6). Slide the flame spreader panel back into place if necessary.
