1999 V-10 2500 Dodge Truck Specs

    Engine and Transmission

    • The eight-liter V10 fitted in some Dodge Ram 2500s produces 310 horsepower. The truck has a 117 amp alternator, a 600 amp battery and runs on regular unleaded gasoline. Standard transmission is a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive, but there was also an additional choice between a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

      The pickup has rear-wheel drive with part-time four-wheel drive switched by a manual drive shift. The drive system also has automatic locking hub control and limited slip differential was an option.

    Suspension and Brakes

    • The front suspension has anti-roll bar, coil springs and heavy duty shocks. The rear suspension is leaf-type with leaf springs and heavy duty shocks. The steering system is a recirculating ball system. The front brakes are vented discs and the rear brakes are drum type. The truck's wheels are 16 inch silver-look alloys and the front tire sizes are LT245/75SR16.0BSW AS. The truck also has a full-size steel spare wheel.

    Dimensions and Features

    • The Ram 2500 two-door has an exterior cargo length of 96.6 inches and a width of 50 inches. The exterior cargo volume is 71.7 cubic feet and interior cargo volume is 48.5 cubic feet. Passenger volume is 63 cubic feet.

      The front headroom inside, for both two and four door cab types is 40.3 inches, hiproom is 65.1 inches, shoulder room is 66.5 inches and legroom is 41 inches.

      The four-door version of the Ram 2500 has a cargo length of 76.6 inches and 50 inches width. The exterior cargo volume is 55.5 cubic feet and interior cargo volume is 48.5 cubic feet. Passenger volume is 112 cubic feet. The rear of the cab has 39.4 inches of headroom, 65.1 inches of hiproom, 67.1 inches of shoulder-room and 33.2 inches of legroom.

      All Dodge Ram 2500s have driver and passenger front airbags, rear wheel Anti-lock Braking System, center high mounted stop light, manual windows and door locks and cargo concealed storage.
