- 1). Lift the window up by hand so it is completely closed in the window frame and place masking tape around the top of the door frame to hold the Jaguar XJ6 window in place while removing the window motor. Unfasten the negative battery cable from the battery post with an open-end wrench to prevent electrical shock while you're removing the window motor.
- 2). Unfasten the screw that holds the door handle cover plate to the door panel with a screwdriver, and remove the cover plate from the panel. Remove the screws that secure the armrest to the door panel with a screwdriver. Pull the armrest back just enough to locate the electricala wire that is attached to the door panel light.
- 3). Unfasten the electrical connector on the back of the armrest that is attached to the door panel light and set the armrest out of the way. Gently pry the speaker grille off the door panel with a small standard screwdriver and set the grille aside.
- 4). Lift the door switch plate off the lower armrest with the small standard screwdriver and unfasten the electrical wire connector on the back of the switch plate. Set the switch plate aside and remove the screws that secure the lower armrest to the door panel with a screwdriver.
- 5). Disconnect the speaker wire from the back of the speaker in the lower armrest and set the armrest out of the way. Gently unfasten the plastic clips that are holding the door panel to the door frame with a small standard screwdriver and remove the door panel from the door frame.
- 6). Pull the plastic liner back from across the door frame to locate the window motor. Unfasten the electrical connector from the bottom of the window motor. Unfasten the bolts that attach the window motor to the door frame with a socket wrench, and remove the motor from the Jaguar XJ6 door frame.
