UAVs to Plant Trees; 6-8 Billion of Them!

Recently after a long discussion in our Online Think Tank, I had to wonder if the solution for Global Warming or Climate Change or whatever on the Earth you wish to call it is to use Military Transfer Technology.
For instance can we use Robotics to plant the 6-8 Billion trees that some scientists speculate we will need to curb a climate crisis from mankind and his carbon emissions? Well let me tell you my plan.
You see I had designed a system in 2002 that would allow a robotic aircraft flying in the thin Mars atmosphere to drop tiny sensors, which could be used for Rover triangulation and navigations, since there are not enough human satellites up for GPS use.
The small cone shaped devises would contain small amounts of water used to power up a mini-fuel cell unit when in communication with the rovers.
Okay now lets table that application and consider using a similar application to plant tree around Earth.
UAVs would fly grid patterns over areas where trees might grow well and drop cone shaped units with seedlings in the bottom.
On impact with the ground the units would burrow themselves down the proper distance from the gravity fall and the seed would be slowly watered by the seepage of the water in the cone.
This would allow the seed to start and then nature would take it from there.
And if we regionalized the types of seeds with the climate of the area we could choose the proper species of tree, which might soak up the most CO2 and grow the fastest or the best compromise for this mission.
Within ten years there would be 6-8 Billion more trees on the Planet and hopefully by then mankind will have grown up and stopped over polluting the air? What do you say? It is a potential solution to Global Climate Change.
Although our Online Think Tank wonders if anyone is concerned about a solution, as they seem to be enjoying the political rhetoric and debate a whole bunch more.
I hope this article has propelled thought for 2007.
