- 1). Bait a fish hook on your fishing pole with a fatty meat source. Examples include hot dogs or uncooked chicken, according to the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Alternatively, flip rocks over and scoop crawfish up with a fishing net.
- 2). Lure a crawfish out by placing your fishing line near vegetation and around rocks. Allow the crawfish to nab the bait; reel in the line. Use a net to scoop the crawfish in case it releases the hook.
- 3). Put on a pair of rubber gloves to protect your fingers. Grab the crawfish by its thorax. Store it in a bucket filled with water from where you caught your critters.
- 4). Refresh the water in your bucket every hour. Use wire cutters to cut the head from the crawfish's body when you intend to take the catch home. Store the crawfish in ice for the trip home.
