5 Stages of a Beak Up and How to Avoid It

Anytime someone experiences a breakup in a relationship, they go through the same five stages that others experience.
Knowing what each stage entails and that they exist will help each person make it through much easier.
Stage 1 Acknowledgment You have to accept the fact that the breakup has occurred.
Why it happened is not important right now.
You just need to know that it did.
More than likely you feel abandoned.
You need to alert to how you are feeling.
Deep analyze is not needed at this time as much as acknowledging the feelings.
Though this is a difficult time in your life, look to what is good right now.
At every opportunity get out and exercise.
Take walks around your neighborhood.
Get into your hobby.
Try spending time with your family.
Dive into activities that are positive and help you move forward.
Stage 2 Let it Out Stage 2 of a breakup is the release of emotions and stress.
Pent up emotions are not good for you.
As a breakup is mentally and physically crushing, sharing how you feel with a friend or relative can help.
In the event you have no such person in your life, consider a professional counselor.
While pretending that you are fine and doing well may help convince your friends, it provides no useful healing for the emotional pain.
Keeping a written journal of your thoughts can be very helpful.
While rereading them over can help, the fact is, simply organizing your thoughts and writing them out is enough.
Stage 3 Nurturing Stage three following a break up is nurturing.
When you hit the lowest points in your life it is important to be in a loving and nurturing environment.
Friends and family will normally be there.
Be open to advice from family and friends.
Remember that they want to help and that they care.
Avoid negative reactions to things that may hurt your feelings.
Their goal is to help.
Your friends may begin to express negative feelings about your ex, they may share your hurt.
Let them know that you want to focus on your own feelings, not him.
Stage 4 Reward and Fun It is normal to see the time after breakup as one of loss.
However, you need not make it a time of lonely depression.
The forth thing to do when you are experiencing a break up is to do something fun.
Get up and out.
Do something fun.
See a movie.
Join a club and attend those meetings.
Get back to old friends.
Start sharing times with them.
Start developing a new, better you.
Your sad ending could be an exciting new beginning.
Stage 5 Moving On Eventually you will be able to look at the breakup as a past event and not get emotional about it.
The focus on your future will again take priority.
You will be able to let the ex go, focusing on new relationships and experiences.
Then you will be in the last stage of the fifth breakup stage.
You will have moved on.
