- 1). Spray the interior of your candle mold with silicon spray. This will make it easier to release the candle from the mold once the candle is complete.
- 2). Melt the beeswax in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Let the wax sit for three to five minutes after it has finished melting. This will allow any impurities to settle at the bottom of the pan.
- 3). Cut wicking 2 inches longer than the mold and affix in the mold. A drop of wax on the bottom of the mold can help secure the wick.
- 4). Pour the melted wax slowly into the mold. Fill the mold completely with wax. Wait five minutes.
- 5). Pour more wax in the mold to fill it. Beeswax will contract as it cools, so this second pour ensures a full candle.
- 6). Allow the wax to cool completely, several hours or overnight, depending on the diameter of the candle. Remove the candle from the mold. Trim the wick to ½ inch long.
- 1). Lay a sheet of beeswax on a table or countertop in front of you. Decide what size of candle you want to make. For a shorter, thicker candle, you'll roll the wax from the short side of the beeswax rectangle. For a taller, thinner candle, roll from the long side.
- 2). Cut a piece of candle wick 2 inches longer than your finished candle. Lay the wick against the edge of the sheet of wax.
- 3). Roll the candle, beginning at one edge. Incorporate the wick into the rolling. Work slowly, rolling the wax tightly and evenly.
- 4). Smooth the edge of the candle with your fingers. As you work, the warmth of your fingers will warm the wax, allowing you to seal the wax edge so the candle doesn't unroll.
- 5). Trim the wick at the top and the bottom of the candle, leaving ½ inch of wick at the top and cutting the bottom even.
