- 1). Search for the spring mechanisms on either side of the screen. These should be small plastic slides at the bottom of the screen.
- 2). Spray the slides with spray lubricant to make them easier to operate. They may be stiff, especially if the screen is old. Let the lubricant soak in for a few minutes.
- 3). Press the slides in toward the center of the screen simultaneously. This will release the bottom portion of the screen from the notches in the frame that hold it in place.
- 4). Pull the bottom portion of the screen toward you slightly while pulling the screen down. Pull until the top of the screen clears the notches in the bottom of the frame and the entire screen is free from the window frame.
