• Australia Catholic University was established in 1991, with campuses in North Sydney, Melbourne, Strathfield, Ballarat, Canberra and Brisbane. The university offers a master of accounting degree at both its Melbourne and its North Sydney locations, and the course of study takes one and half years. Potential applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or possess an accounting certificate on the graduate level. Students may be given credit when entering with the graduate level certificate or graduate diploma, allowing them to potentially complete the program in less time. Bond University

• Bond University is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, and was founded in 1989. The university offers a bachelor's degree in commerce, which gives students the option to focus on accounting. The degree consists of two years of full-time study, but may also be pursued part time. Students may also participate in a number of internships and appointments to obtain practical experience while pursuing the degree. • James Cook University was founded in 1970, and offers study opportunities at eight campuses--Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane, Mackay, Mount Isa, Singapore, Thursday Island and Research Field Stations. • The University of Newcastle was founded in 1965, with locations at Newcastle, Sydney, Port Macquarie, Singapore and Central Coast, with Sydney serving as the location for the master of professional accounting program. The program consists of three semesters of full-time study, but part-time work is also available. Students take courses at Sydney's central business district location, which are geared for those seeking higher education in accounting in addition to gaining experience in supervision and organization. Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree and a graduate certificate or postgraduate diploma, or two years of work-related experience and a diploma.
