One of the oldest main islands of Hawaii is Kauai.
If you look closely you will find that this island has been featured in around seventy Hollywood movies as well as television series.
Dozens and dozens of filmmakers have been inspired by this island hence you will find various Kauai secret movie locations.
This island has been the main backdrop for a few epic movies and the list ranges from Jurassic Park to South Pacific.
You will need a tour for at least a month if you plan on covering Kauai secret movie locations.
If you go to the town of Lihue which is in Kauai you will find that the Raiders of the Lost Ark were shot beside the Huleia River.
But then the difficulty in this location is that you get to access it only by kayak or an air tour.
Then the second part which you should look at is the Nawiliwili Harbor where you will remember scenes from Jurassic Park: The Lost World.
Moving onto the Kauai secret movie locations on the East side which is the Coconut Coast we start with the shooting of Blue Hawaii which took place at the Lydgate State Park.
The Wailua Falls and Wailua river was the base for Fantasy Island (a TV show) and Blue Hawaii as well as Islands in the Stream.
The Coco Palms Hotel was again the backdrop for Blue Hawaii and South Pacific.
Then the Opaekaa Falls, Kapaa Town and Anahola mountains saw the shooting of movies like Blue Hawaii, The Wackiest Ship in the Army, Honeymoon in Vegas and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Then we have the North Shore where Lilo and Stitch was shot at the Kilauea Lighthouse.
Anini Beach Park saw the shooting of Lilo and Stitch again as well as Honeymoon in Vegas.
Lilo and Stitch was also shot in the Hanalei Bay along with South Pacific which was also shot in a place called the Lumahai Beach.
Body Heat and South Pacific was shot in the Makua Tunnels Beach.
The Kee Beach played host to movies like Lord of the Flies, the Thorn Birds and Throw Mama from the Train.
Also, do you remember the big hit movie King Kong???It was shot in the Kalalau Valley along with Mighty Joe Young.
The Napali coast was home to Jurassic Park: The Lost World and Six Days/ Seven Nights.
The West side features movies like Donowans Reef, Lilo and Stitch and Honeymoon in Vegas shot in Waimea Canyon and also Lilo and Stitch, Thornbirds and Flight of the Intruder shot in Hanapepe Town.
Finally we have the South Shore where the Kauai secret movie locations are Manawaiopuna Falls which can be accessed by an air tour only where Jurassic Park was shot, Koloa which again can only be seen by the air tour where To End All Wars was shot, Olokele Valley, home to George of the Jungle.
Kipu Kai Beach where Hawaii, Hook and Six Nights/ Seven Days was shot.
