Bedroom Office Combo

If space is at a premium within your home there are clever design tips that can help you make the most of the room you have without cluttering up your bedroom with desks and filing cabinets. Home office furniture can match your bedroom furniture and actually compliment your room. No matter what size the room you are working with it can be transformed into a stylish living space.

Ideally we would all love the choice of an office that is separate from other areas of the home, but many of us do not have this luxury, this is where ingenuity comes in, with a little thought and logic, you can have a home office in your bedroom hidden from view or appearing to be something other than a desk.

Modular wardrobes are not only good for their purpose but because they are adaptable you can insert shelving into the unit and it can become a desk that can be hidden away. You can even put a fold up seat underneath the desk; shelving can go above for filing boxes and other office equipment. Once the doors are closed nobody would ever know there was a mini workstation hidden away.

Another alternative is to have your office furniture in full view, you could use the desk as a dressing table, if you keep your items on a tray, the tray can easily be moved aside for when you need to work. If you are worried about an ugly monitor being in full view, have a mirror in front to hide it until needed.

Filing cabinets are no longer large metal tins, there is a wide range of them to choose from, coming in warm walnut and glossy white, perfect for the bedroom. If you are able to match your bedroom furniture with your home office furniture, it will appear seamless and even though everything is in full view, it is not obvious of the double usage.

If you still want a full desk in your bedroom but do not want it to be on show, consider using one of the wonderful screens available to buy, if you work with the colour scheme of your room you will be able to create a chic look, disguising your bedroom office combo.

With the occasional lack of space it makes us all think of alternatives and with a few ideas it can be easy to combine functionality with a bedroom to relax in and unwind.
