How to Cite the King James Bible in APA

    • 1). Record the book and passage that you intend to cite. For example, you may be citing Matthew 6:6.

    • 2). Add your book and passage information immediately after the sentence in which you cite the King James Version. Continuing the example, use this in-line citation: (Matthew 6:6 King James Version).

    • 3). Format subsequent citations in-line by referring to their book and chapter number only, such as: (Exodus 22:20). You do not need to restate the version of the Bible used, unless you are citing multiple versions.
