These regulations -- called occupational health and safety regulations--are enacted by the federal government to protect workers in the electrical industry. These rules also provide rules for the testing and removal of electrical panels.
- While the electrical code and health and safety regulations are extensive, some general rules apply to all electrical equipment, including electrical panels. For example, all electrical equipment must be tested as working and safe. Electrical panels, also, must be easily accessible to occupants of buildings where they're installed and must be grounded.
