How to Remove Blood Stains From Carpeting

    • 1). Blot up as much of the blood as possible with paper towels. Scrubbing will only push the blood further into the carpet and make the stain worse so stick to gentle clotting.

    • 2). Dissolve a teaspoon of a bleach and lanolin free dish soap to a cup of cold water.

    • 3). Dip a clean cloth into the solution and gently apply it to the stain working from the outside of the stain to the center so as not to spread it further across the carpet.

    • 4). "Rinse" the area with a clean cloth dipped in cold water by gently blotting the affected area.

    • 5). Place a fan nearby or cover the area with baking soda to help it dry faster. Vacuum once the area is completely dry to fluff the carpet back up.
