- 1). When possible, try to smooth out the existing surface as soon as the rain lets up. If the concrete is still fairly wet when it gets rained on it may be possible to re-trowel it without having to apply the resurfacing material.
- 2). Keep a supply of resurfacing material on hand to fix rain damage when necessary. Mix the resurfacing material in the bucket according to the directions on the packaging. The resurfacing material should be applied to a damp surface as soon as the weather allows. If there are puddles of water, the surface is too wet. If all of the moisture has entirely evaporated from the concrete, you should lightly spray the surface with a garden hose before putting down the resurfacing material.
- 3). Pour the resurfacing material over the rain affected concrete surface. It's a good idea to cover the entire surface, even if part of it was not affected by the rain, in order to maintain a uniform look. The resurfacing material should be thick enough to provide coverage of the damaged surface and allow you to smooth over it with a trowel.
- 4). Smooth the resurfacing material with a hand trowel.
