If you apply the below methods regularly, your pool should stay crystal clear all year round.
Method One: Make sure to cover the pool when not in use.
Debris and fallen leaves can instantly make a pool look unsavory, so invest in a good pool covering.
Use this whenever the pool is not in use, even if you may be relaxing pool-side.
The less your pool is exposed to the open air and falling debris, the less often you will need to fish items out.
Method Two: Skim the water regularly.
Even with diligent pool covering, small items of debris and flotsam will make their way into your pool eventually.
This can be anything from dead bugs to fallen leaves.
As soon as you see items appear on the surface, use a net to fish them out and dispose of the items as you would any other household garbage.
It is best to try and grab items as you notice them, rather than wait for a prolonged build up of debris.
Method Three: Invest in a good pool cleaner.
There are a variety of products that can be used throughout the year to keep a pool looking fresh.
These range from the commonly known chlorine to products specifically designed to be as chemical-free as possible, and are good for the environment.
Depending on the size and shape of your pool, you should look to put a small amount of product into the water every two-to-three days to maintain a decent standard.
