Chrysler produced the Crossfire for the 2004 to 2008 model years. This vehicle was created as a result of the DaimlerChrysler merger and was mechanically a Mercedes SLK wrapped in an Americanized body. The SRT6 trim level provided this vehicle with a supercharged motor and was only available in showrooms for the 2005 and 2006 model years, after which the SRT6 and its supercharged engine were only available through special order. - The SRT6 version of the Crossfire derives its power from a supercharged 2.2 L V-6 engine. This motor has an 18-valve SOHC design with a 3.54-inch bore, 3.31-inch stroke and a compression ratio of 9 to 1. The forced air induction system used in this power plant helps it attain power ratings of 330 horsepower at 6,100 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 310 foot-pound of torque at 3,500 rpm. This vehicle's engine is exclusively equipped with a five-speed automatic gearbox.
- The Crossfire is a traditional front-engine, rear-wheel drive sport coupe powered by a supercharged engine. This two-door vehicle offers seating for two people and is available in a fixed roof coupe and soft-top convertible body styles. The coupe model weighs 3,240 pounds, while the convertible has a curb weight of 3,328 pounds.
- The Crossfire sits on a 94.5-inch wheelbase with a 58.8-inch front track and a 59.1-inch rear track. The body of this car has an overall length of 159.8 inches with a width of 69.5 inches. The coupe model sits 51.5 inches tall, while the convertible measures 51.8 inches in height. Ground clearance is 4.9 inches.
- The Crossfire coupe's cabin offers 48 cubic feet of passenger space with 7.6 cubic feet of luggage space, while the convertible model has 48.6 cubic feet of passenger volume with 6.5 cubic feet of luggage space. It has 36.9 inches of head room, 42.7 inches of leg room, 52.7 inches of shoulder room and 53.3 inches of hip room. The dimensions remain the same in the convertible model with the exception of a modest gain in head room boosting it to 37.3 inches.
- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's frontal impact crash test earned the Crossfire a five-star rating for driver protection and a four-star rating for passenger protection. This vehicle earned five-star ratings in the NHTSA's rollover and side-impact crash tests.
- The Crossfire SRT6 yields 17 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. It has a 15.9-gallon fuel tank.
