- 1). Place the charging dock end of the USB cable onto the center of one disk and mark the shape of the silver connector part of the cable using the pen. It's important to only mark the silver connector part, not the thicker white casing around it.
- 2). Cut around the markings using the rotary tool so that the silver connector will fit through the CD. Plug your iPhone into the connector to make sure it receives a charge. You might need to reduce the thickness of the CD slightly around the connector if your iPhone isn't charging and you can do this using the rotary tool.
- 3). Place the dock end of the cable onto the next CD and mark the full width of the dock, including the white plastic casing. Cut this shape out of the disk using the rotary tool and check the charger will fit through.
- 4). Repeat this process with the next few disks until you have enough to completely encase the charger part of the cable. The charger should sit on top of the last whole disk and the cable should lie flat across this disk.
- 5). Mark the width of the cable onto the disk second from the bottom and cut a channel through from the edge to the center of the disk. You might have to do this for three or four disks depending on the thickness of the cable.
- 6). Glue the cut out disks together, aligning the holes you have cut out for the charger dock and the cables. Use a heavy object, such as a hardback book, to weigh them down so they will stick to each other tightly. Leave this overnight.
- 7). Insert the cable and connector into the relevant gaps and double-check that your iPhone can connect to the charger properly once it is inside the CD dock. With the cable and charger in place, glue the CDs to the final whole bottom CD and place a heavy object on top to clamp it again, ensuring the charger dock doesn't move out of position. Once the glue has dried, your dock will be ready to use.
