How to Plow Up Weeds

    • 1). Wear gardening gloves and eye protection. Roll the rototiller to the site of the weeds. Set the rototiller to dig two inches deep, and pull start the rototiller's engine. Line the rototiller up with one of the corners of the area you need to till.

    • 2). Press and hold the clutch mechanism to activate the digging blades. Push the tiller in a straight line on the area to be tilled. Once you reach the far boundary, move the rototiller one rototiller length sideways and turn it 180 degrees - much like you would with a lawnmower. Head back across the weeded area. Continue this zigzag pattern until all parts of the weeded area have been tilled.

    • 3). Use the spade to remove weeds that are outside of the bulk area covered by the rototiller. Chances are your weed patch wasn't a perfect square, so dig the spade down two inches on all areas surrounding the weed and scoop the weed and dirt surrounding the weed. Dig out any remaining roots.
