DIY Hammock Swing

    • 1). Select two sturdy points to attach the head and foot of your hammock to. Thick trees roughly ten feet apart work well as hammock anchors.

    • 2). Tie one end of your rope to your one secure point, bring the rope down to the second point and tie a second knot. Bring the remaining rope back to the first knot and tie a third and final knot.

    • 3). Place your blanket over the center of your two lines of rope. Fold one third of the blanket over the rope, then another third of blanket over the first fold and rope. There should be at least multiple inches of blanket overlap on both sides of your folds.

    • 4). Separate your blanket to expose the middle third of blanket. This is your resting surface. Slowly slide into this surface and test your hammock's stability. The weight of your body will cause the folds of rope and blanket to be self-supporting. Bring your lower body and legs into the hammock and lie down.
