There are many things to take into consideration when planning a successful overnight camping.
No matter what the purpose of the camping is or who the audience is...
the scouts, the family, a group friends, it is always important to spend some good time on finding a good quality camping tent to sleep over.
After having participated in hundreds of overnight camping across my scout and young adult life, I know the consequences of not choosing the right tent with enough quality for your type of trip.
You don't want to feel water running by your side in the middle of a rainy night because it filtered through the seams.
Well, I would recommend you to consider whether or not the following could be part of your overnight camping: 1.
Rain and heavy dew can make the inside of your tent like a high stream river if you don't ensure the tent you have purchased is water resistant, especially in the seams area, but also through the tent's floor, ceiling, and walls.
I have seen backpacks, sleeping bags, clothing, feet and more getting completely soaked in just a few minutes inside a camping tent in the middle of the night just because the tent was not water resistant enough and no one spent some time and money purchasing a good tent.
2.
Heavy wind is one of the main causes of broken tents, poles, and stakes.
If planning to participate in an overnight camp in an area where high winds are usual, you better ensure that the poles and tent walls are made out of a very flexible material which would easily bend towards the wind direction when hit by a constant or sporadic wind waves.
Good tents will completely bend, with the tent ceiling and walls pretty much touching the ground when hit by hard wind.
3.
Sometimes you actually want your tent to keep fresh and cool on the inside if your camping area is hot and dry.
When camping in arid or semi desert areas, or even at the beach during a hot summer, you would want to ensure your camping tent has enough ventilation through windows and screened doors.
There is plenty of tent varieties to satisfy your requirement regarding this concern.
The usual is to have at least two windows and a door, all with a zippered screen and covers which would let you decide when to allow the fresh air flow through the windows and doors.
Some more advance tent have a screen type fabric on the ceiling top part which is covered by the tent canopy allowing the air to flow through the ceiling without letting rain or dew go through.
