How to Put New Sod on a Lawn

    • 1). Put on work gloves and use the shovel to dig out the section of grass you wish to replace.

    • 2). Pick out any debris from the cleared area such as rocks or twigs.

    • 3). Sprinkle the area with fertilizer.

    • 4). Use pruning shears to cut the sod to the size of the area you wish to cover, and then lay the sod over the area.

    • 5). Water your lawn with 1/2 inch of water at least twice a week.
