- 1). Shower each stone paver with clear water. Use a garden hose with a spray nozzle.
- 2). Mix 1/4 cup of dish soap with a gallon of water. Pour it over the pavers and scrub, using a stiff broom or nylon brush.
- 3). Rinse, using the garden hose, and let the stones air dry. Any remaining stains will have to removed using products that are specifically designed to clean the particular type of stone at hand. Follow label directions for use, and rinse thoroughly.
- 1). Shake the can of stone sealant vigorously, and pour the sealant into a paint pan. Apply a layer to the stone pavers using a paintbrush or roller. Let the sealant dry for two hours.
- 2). Add a second layer by brushing or rolling it onto the stones. Repeated applications of thin layers provide a smoother finish.
- 3). Run your fingers along the pavers to make sure the surface has dried, but wait a full 48 hours before using the stones.
