- Basil likes its sunlight, and grows accordingly. Plant basil as a seed and keep it in a window that gets plenty of light, such as one that faces south.
- Bay plants need to be given a certain amount of room and moderate light and heat. Place them in an area by themselves in a window facing either east or west to ensure that light only reaches them for half of the day.
- To propagate oregano, cut a tip from another plant and pot it. Oregano likes sunlight and warmth, so place it in a south-facing window.
- Parsley does best when planted as a seed. It prefers plenty of sun, but if your south-facing windows are already overstocked with other plants, parsley will grow steadily in either an east of west-facing window.
- Sage does best when taken from a cutting. Once potted, sage will do well indoors in dry air, but it requires a south-facing window in order to take full advantage of the sunlight.
