- 1). Go to the Mazda USA website (see Resource section) and research the extended warranty options. You may keep the exact warranty that you already have or you may change it. The extended warranty usually will not begin until your current warranty expires. You may extend your Mazda's warranty at any time through a Mazda dealership, even if your current warranty has already expired. Depending on the year of your vehicle and amount of miles it has, you may not have as many options to choose from, but they do offer warranties for older Mazdas.
- 2). Visit your local Mazda dealership and meet with a sales representative. They will be able to go over the different warranties that are offered to you and answer any questions you may have.
- 3). Choose the warranty that best fits your needs. They have warranties that cover almost every possible part of your vehicle from the engine to wiper blades. They also have warranties that only cover specific parts of the vehicle such as the transmission.
- 4). Decide if you would like to have a deductible and if so, the amount you would like your deductible to be. If you do not want to pay a deductible, your payments may be higher. If you choose to have a deductible, your payments should be lower.
- 5). Purchase your warranty. You may either choose to pay a lump sum, or finance monthly payments. In some cases, they may be able to add your payment to your current auto loan, depending on your loan provider. You must purchase a "Certified Mazda Warranty" at a Mazda dealership.
- 6). Sign the extended warranty contacts and be sure to keep your warranty information in a safe place.
