- 1). Unroll your ribbon onto a flat surface and cut to size. For an average-size gift (about 12 inches by 12 inches), the ribbon should be about 4 feet long.
- 2). Set the gift down and place the ribbon across the top of the gift length-wise. Adjust as necessary to make the ribbon equal lengths on each side of the gift.
- 3). Pull the ribbon down each side of the package.
- 4). Lift the package slightly and fold the ribbon under it.
- 5). Bring the ribbon ends together underneath the package and criss-cross them.
- 6). Pull the ribbon to the opposite sides of the gift and up the side (the ribbon should now be positioned width-wise).
- 7). Bring the ribbon to the top and meet both ends in the middle. Tie a knot to secure the wrapping.
- 8). Separate the ribbon ends.
- 9). Pinch one ribbon end in the middle to form a loop. Wrap the other end of the ribbon around the loop and through itself to form a bow, similar to tying a shoelace.
- 10
Pull on both sides of the bow to tighten. Cut the ribbon ends at equal lengths at an angle or with an inverted "V" cut.
