How to Decorate Around a Freestanding Stove

    • 1). Flank the freestanding stove with other freestanding pieces of furniture. The key is to make the stove look like it is part of a fluid unit. To do this, you may try to nestle two identical buffets on either side of the stove. You can place plates, pots and pans and other kitchen accessories in and on the buffets.

    • 2). Place a baker's rack on one side of the stove, which you can use to hold pots and pans, kitchen accessories, and spices.

    • 3). Nestle a tiered basket rack for oven mitts and dish towels on the other side of the stove. Another idea is to place a wheeled kitchen cart on the other side of the stove.

    • 4). Place an oven mitt hanger over the stove to decorate the wall behind the stove.

    • 5). Hang a chalkboard, memo board or piece of art behind the stove to add embellishment to the wall.

    • 6). Lay a decorative rug in front of the stove.
