- 1). Pull out the flaps of the cardboard box, and tape them down to the outside of the box with duct tape.
- 2). Cut your 1-inch thick insulation pieces to fit the bottom and four sides of the inside of your box.
- 3). Add the aluminum foil to the insulation by gluing pieces to one side of each piece of insulation. Spray black paint on the side of the pieces without aluminum foil, and allow them to dry completely.
- 4). Glue your insulation pieces to the box with the black sides facing the inside of the oven (against the sides of the box).
- 5). Make your lid. Use scissors to cut a piece of cardboard a little larger than the oven opening. Next, cut a hole equal to the size of the opening of the oven. Use duct tape to attach your roasting bag over the hole.
- 6). Put a drip pan at the bottom of the global solar oven to catch spills while cooking.
- 7). Insert your barbecue thermometer through the side or front of your solar oven. Secure the thermometer with duct tape.
