Welcome the spring season with a festive party for kids. Easter decorating for the party can be a lot more fun with your children making handmade Easter decor accents. These accessories can be used to bring springtime color and beauty to your home and help build up the excitement for the holiday. Here are a few crafts that your children can make for an egg-ceptional holiday table that's sure to delight the little ones.
Easter Egg Napkin Rings
Slice a cardboard tube from paper towels into pieces about one and a half inches long for each ring. Paint the rings and let dry. Cut out a simple egg shape from heavy cardstock in proportion to the rings. Trace the egg shape onto foam and cut these out. Use colored foam to make five little dots with a paper punch for each egg. Glue cardstock and foam shapes together and add the dots onto each egg as cute embellishments. Secure the eggs to rings with glue.
Counting Activity Placemats
Keep those little fingers busy while waiting for those delicious treats with smart Easter decor accessories for the table. Design placemats with activity sheets to help preschoolers practice their counting and write their numbers. Download colorful Easter-themed clipart from free sources online. Use image manipulation software to create a placemat with a chick and many colored eggs. Print them out on thick cardstock and attach to solid colored placemats for themed Easter decorating. Provide colored pencils for children to write numbers on the eggs and count them.
Colorful Egg Centerpiece
Wrap rubber bands around a large foam egg, dividing it into four equal sections. The rubber bands should cross each other at right angles at top and bottom of egg. Use a marker to draw section lines and then remove the rubber bands. Glue a single color of pompoms to the foam egg, close together, along the marker lines. Glue a different color of pompom inside each section of egg to fill it completely. Let it dry completely before placing in a basket filled with grass for a gorgeous centerpiece to highlight your Easter decor.
Easter decorating ideas like choosing bunny themed dinnerware and drinkware can surely add to the fun element of your kids' holiday table. Glue white pompoms to glasses to make easy and festive bunny tumblers for lemonade. Plates can be embellished with paper bunny ears for a festive accent.
