How to Hang a Plant Container

    • 1). Decide where to suspend the hanging plant. Shade-loving plants should be set back from the edges of porches or gazebos. Plants that like sun will do well at the edge of overhangs.

    • 2). Mark the exact spot with a pencil.

    • 3). Lightly tap the pointed end of your hook into the ceiling at the designated pencil mark.

    • 4). Using force from your shoulder, push the hook into the ceiling as you are turning it to tighten the hook into the surface.

    • 5). Use a screwdriver to add turning leverage when the hook starts to bite into the wooden joist.

    • 6). Turn the hook until it is screwed in past the threads of the hook.

    • 7). Hang a plant on the hook.
