Baking a birthday cake and going out to dinner are nice things to do on a birthday, but not very memorable. Demonstrate your creativity along with your love for your boyfriend by planning a birthday celebration that he'll never forget. Keep the cake, but make sure it's accompanied by an activity that is extraordinary. - Your outdoorsy boyfriend will appreciate a camp-out on his birthday.Ben Alder camping image by lhaxton from Fotolia.com
Delight a boyfriend who loves the outdoors by planning a hiking and camping trip. Locate a trail nearby---sites such as Trails.com allow you to search by ZIP code. Weather permitting, gather up your camping gear and let your boyfriend know you'll both be having an adventure. If he likes to fish, take some fishing equipment along as well. Pack a couple of small birthday cakes and a candle to celebrate with once you arrive at your destination. If he doesn't have a backpack or a backpacking tent, you may want to give him one as a birthday present. - Let someone else drive on his birthday.side of limo. image by Empath from Fotolia.com
Rent a limousine for your boyfriend's birthday. Plan to dance the night away. You can invite his friends and rent a limousine for the entire evening. Plan on going from club to club without ever needing to worry about parking or choosing a designated driver.
If your boyfriend doesn't dance, rent the limousine for the two of you and enjoy being chauffeured to dinner. Afterward, ask the driver to take you for a drive in the countryside or wherever your boyfriend would like to go. - Take him out to dinner in another state.airplane image by Clarence Alford from Fotolia.com
Surprise your boyfriend with airline tickets to a completely random place. Take advantage of some of the specials you can find on the Internet, such as a cheap fare to Kansas City or Albuquerque. Select a city that will not involve a long plane ride. Keep it to two hours and under. Fly there in the morning, explore a bit, have dinner at a nice restaurant and fly back. Then he'll be able to say, "My girlfriend flew me to Albuquerque for green chile enchiladas at Little Anita's. It was great." - Give him a vodka tasting.shot glasses with vodka and cherries image by Monika Olszewska from Fotolia.com
Flavored vodkas are all the rage, and you can create them yourself. Buy a large bottle of vodka and several smaller, empty bottles. Separate the vodka into the smaller bottles and infuse a different flavor into each one. Some people enjoy candy-flavored vodka, while others like a more sophisticated flavor, such as vanilla or ginger. Almost anything goes. Bacon-flavored vodka has been around for centuries. The recipe is available, if you want to go out on a limb a bit (see Resources).
Plan in advance, as you'll need a week or two for most of the vodkas to become infused with the flavor. Invite a few of his friends over and enjoy. Serve with cocktail foods such as nuts, olives and bruschetta.
