- 1). Cut a length of cord slightly longer than the desired length of your bird toy. As you tie knots, the overall length of the cord will shorten slightly.
- 2). Tie the bell on the bottom of the bird toy. The shiny color and the sound will entertain many birds. Make sure your bell is large enough that your bird won't swallow it if it falls off. The proper size of bell will depend on the size of your bird.
- 3). Tie a knot above the bell. Slip a bead down the cord so that it is supported by the knot. The exact location is up to you. However, if you want your bird to play with the bell, be sure to use smaller beads between the larger rounds and the bell to leave enough space to allow the bird's head to reach the bell.
- 4). Tie more knots and add beads until you reach a level where you would like to install a round. The round is not required, but may add some variety to your toy.
- 5). Tie a knot and attach the round as desired. The exact placement is up to you. You might change the location periodically to help keep your bird entertained.
- 6). Tug on all the knots to make sure they are tight and hang the toy from the top of your bird cage.
