- Indian sweet limes need full sun and well-draining soil to grow properly. They cannot grow outside of a subtropical region, since they will receive frost damage. Grow sweet limes in an area that can support their sun, soil and temperature needs.
- Sweet limes need regular fertilizing with ammonium nitrate or 21-0-0 fertilizer when they first produce new growth after planting. Texas A&M suggests giving 1 cup of fertilizer per year, broken up into three applications from mid-winter to early fall.
- Water the Indian sweet lime every seven to 10 days. Add water until the soil becomes drenched, and then allow it to dry out for the rest of the interval. Cut back on watering during times of heavy rain.
