- 1). Fill 3-inch growing containers with potting soil.
- 2). Sow the green chili pepper seeds 1/4 inch deep and add just enough water to lightly moisten the soil.
- 3). Place the containers in a warm, brightly lit location protected from direct sun.
- 4). Water lightly when the surface of the potting soil feels dry.
- 5). Prepare the garden site by eliminating all vegetation and loosening the soil 10 to 12 inches deep with a garden fork.
- 6). Transplant the green chili pepper plants to the garden once all danger of frost has passed. Plant at the level they were growing in their containers and water them just enough to thoroughly moisten the soil. Leave a space of 24 inches between each plant.
- 7). Feed the seedlings with water-soluble fertilizer combined at half strength right after transplanting. Repeat in four weeks.
- 8). Keep the soil lightly moist, but take care not to over-water.
