Ideas for Animal Birthday Party Invitations

    Stickers

    • Let the animals roam free on a whimsical invitation featuring a sticker safari. Use a crayon or marker to draw and color hills or a grassy field on the front of the card. Populate the area with animal stickers such as zebras, lions, elephants and giraffe. If desired, add a jeep sticker "pulling" a slip of paper that reads, "It's a safari party" or "Drive over to our jungle birthday."

Print party details such as the time, location, date and RSVP information on a piece of card stock that's 1.5 inches shorter and 1 inch narrower than the card. Affix the card stock inside the blank card 1/2 inch down from the top and centered left to right with double-stick tape or a glue stick. Place monkey stickers under the card stock as if they're holding up the party information.

    Rubber Stamp

    • Round up your child's favorite animals on a birthday invitation featuring rubber-stamped images. Use a marker to draw a single line across the bottom of the card. Stamp an assortment of zoo animals atop the line as if the creatures are parading from the left side to the right side of the card. Tie the images to the birthday theme by stamping a small party hat on each animal's head.

Print or write the pertinent party information on a piece of card stock that's 1.5 inches shorter and narrower than the blank card. Center and affix the card stock inside the invitation. Stamp additional animals to create a border around the card stock as if they're marching around the party details.

    Shaped Cards

    • Invite guests to the animal-themed birthday party with single-layer handmade invitations in adorable animal shapes. Use a shape stencil to trace an animal outline such as a lion, elephant or giraffe onto a piece of card stock or chipboard. Add details to the shape with markers, crayons or glitter glue. Write the party information on the back of the shape or print the details on a piece of card stock that you can affix to the center with a glue stick or double-stick tape.

    Animal Objects

    • If you're passing out the party invitations in person rather than mailing them, write the party information on an animal-shaped die cut sold at scrapbooking or craft stores. Use a hand-held hole punch to make a hole at the top of the die cut and use ribbon or string to tie the "tag" to an animal-themed object such as a box of animal crackers, plastic animal figurines, a bag of peanuts or a small stuffed animal.
