  Hawaiian Magic is a family-operated business that specializes in selling tropical plants and flowers as well as Hawaiian-themed gifts. Based in Kapoho, on Hawaii's Big Island, Hawaiian Magic sells plants both in the local community and over the Internet. Dendrobium Orchid

• According to the University of Florida, the dendrobium variety of orchid is the most popular orchid species for growing at home. This is because the orchid is easy to cultivate and produces prolific amounts of flowers. The flowers of the dendrobium orchid form at the ends of narrow stalks -- known as racemes -- and can remain open for between three and four weeks. Hawaiian Magic offers a standard dendrobium orchid, which has white and lavender flowers; as well as a wildcat Seoul dendrobium, which has darker flowers featuring a camouflage pattern. Phalaenopsis Orchid

• The phalaenopsis orchid has flowers that are characteristically broad and flat, resembling the wings of moths. The roots of the orchid grow in abundance and are silvery or white in color. The flowers of the phalaenopsis orchid can be of any color besides true red and blue, however they most commonly bloom in pastel colors or shades that are delicate and soft. Proteas

• Proteas are evergreen shrubs that produce cone-shaped flower heads. Several large, brightly-colored bracts surround the flower heads, providing proteas with their characteristically unusual appearance. The colorful bracts are not true flower petals, but adapted leaves. Hawaiian Magic offers several cultivars of protea, including pink mink, exotic mink, pincushions, banksia and king, which the company predominately sells in arrangements. King protea, which has pinkish-red flowers and over-sized flower-heads, is the national flower of South Africa.
  
  

Anthuriums

• Anthuriums produce shiny, heart-shaped, dark-green leaves and flowers that have central, tail-like flowers known as spadices. Surrounding these central spadices are brightly-colored leaf structures known as spathes. While the spadices can range from yellow to white to pink in color, the spathes can be white, pink, red or rose in color. Hawaiian Magic sells anthuriums that local Hawaiian cultivators grow on volcanic cinders. You can purchase anthuriums as stand-alone potted plants or as part of an arrangement.
