Most of Americans were not able to afford chocolate until 1765, and when it finally made its way into America, it was mainly used for medicinal purposes.
Chocolate was first transformed from a bitter drink into a sweet dessert by the Europeans.
It is as a result of this that many people argue that Europeans produce the finest chocolate on the globe.
Many think that European chocolate is more delicious and better in quality than American chocolate, because it was the first to come out.
On the other hand, other people argue that American chocolate is superior, because Americans had enough time to perfect their recipes.
Where the finest chocolates are made highly depends on the personal taste.
European chocolate is also regarded as superior, because Europeans have some of the oldest chocolate brands in the international market.
Some of the old brand names from Europe include Lindt and Cadbury, which are from Switzerland and England respectively.
These are admired on a wide scale and when people see these at stores, they immediately reach out for them, even if they are close to other equally delicious American brands.
This is mainly because these brands have established a good reputation and are now highly regarded brands.
A known American Brand that is extremely popular worldwide is Hershey.
The brand was introduced in 1900.
As far as the features of the chocolate are concerned, American chocolates are often regarded as sweeter than European ones.
In addition, American chocolates are less dark than European chocolates, because they tend to have less cocoa in them than that of European chocolates.
Therefore, deciding which brand is best will depend upon someone's choice of darker or lighter chocolate.
