The last ten races of the year make up The Chase For the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Here the top twelve drivers are locked in and have their points manually set so that any driver in the top twelve can win the Sprint Cup Championship.
During this part of the season all eyes are on the top twelve in points and the battle for the Championship. From the kickoff in New Hampshire, through unpredictable Talladega and on to Championship Weekend in Homestead The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is the only story of these last ten races.
Silly Season wraps up during this part of the season. The mid-range and lower quality teams and drivers will announce any changes that they are making for next season. These announcements come after the top teams fill their seats because drivers hold out for the best available rides before settling for a lesser team.
Key races:
- Talladega Superspeedway - The only plate race in The Chase
- October race at Charlotte Motor Speedway - The only night race in The Chase
- October race in Martinsville - The only short track race in The Chase
