If you are all set on your decision to take a Tanzania safari vacation, and your decision is final, then well done! You couldn't have picked a better place to visit for a wildlife safari.
Tanzania has some of the world's greatest National Parks and Game Reserves, which show the perfect mixture of both breath taking scenery as well as rare native wildlife.
If you are looking for more information on these reserves that you can visit, then read on...
The Serengeti National Park is the most famous reserve in the world.
Not only does it have a great range of wildlife, but it is also home to one of the natural wonders of the world, the 'Great Migration'.
The migration sees over 1 million wildebeest make their way from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara, with events such as dangerous river crossings and predator hunting's entailing along the way.
At the beginning of each year, you can also see the mass birthing of over half a million wildebeest calve in action, this usually happens with the space of 1 month, and is an overwhelming site to see so many calves being born at once.
There are plenty of lodges in both the Serengeti and the Masai Mara which offer great views of the migration in action from aerial or balcony vantage points.
The Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area is without a doubt, one of the greatest scenic destinations on this earth.
It offers panoramic views from the rim of the crater over the landscape and floor around it.
The view is so overwhelming that it is said to more than the eyes can take in.
The crater features a fantastic set of wildlife, which are kept conserved from danger by its 2,000ft walls.
The animals you can see there include the 'Big Five' (rhino, buffalo, elephant, leopard and lion), cheetah, hartebeest, zebra, jackal, wildebeest and hyena.
The Selous Game Reserve is the largest park of its kind throughout the world, measuring approximately 50,000 square Kilometres.
It features many animals including lion, elephant, impala, hippo, zebra, giraffe, sable and the rare African wild dog, which is more present in Selous than anywhere else in the world.
