How to Remove Stains From an Oven

    • 1). Put on rubber gloves to protect your skin against the cleaning agents.

    • 2). Remove the racks from your oven.

    • 3). Pour one gallon of ammonia into a trash bag and put your oven racks into that trash bag. Allow them to sit in the ammonia trash bag for 24 hours.

    • 4). Place newspapers on the floor and on the cabinets around your oven so your cleaner doesn't get on your floor or on your cabinets.

    • 5). Mix one tablespoon of bleach, one tablespoon of lemon juice, one tablespoon of liquid dish soap and one quart of warm water.

    • 6). Transfer your homemade oven cleaner into a spray bottle so your oven cleaner is easy to spray into your oven.

    • 7). Spray the mixture liberally on all surfaces of your oven.

    • 8). Allow the mixture to sit for several minutes, then try to scrub the stains away. For stubborn stains, you may need to use a scrubbing brush.

    • 9). Rinse the mixture off your oven surfaces with warm water. The next day, rinse your oven racks with warm, soapy water. Let your oven and your oven racks air dry completely before you use your oven again.
