How to Reset Home Security System Pass Codes

    • 1). Inspect the master panel on your security system. Many panels will have a "Change Pass Code" button on the panel. Press it and then enter the old code. Enter the new code twice after that and the panel should now recognize the new code.

    • 2). Call your security company and inform them you wish to change your pass code. You will need to provide the old pass code along with basic account information such as address and phone number. You may be asked several security questions on the account, such as your mother's maiden name or name of a family pet. Once the information is verified, the company can frequently update your system codes over the phone.

    • 3). Access your account online by logging into the website for your security provider. Locate the "Change Password/Pass Code" option and click on it. You will need to enter your previous pass code first followed by the new code twice in a row to verify that it is correct. Save the changes when you are finished.
