Wedding Photography Locations

When choosing a perfect location for your wedding photography you must take a few things into consideration. It is always best to ask your photographers recommendations because his personal style will be highly waited on the location that you choose. Some photographers will not care what they shoot in because they feel like no matter what they can get a good photo and some photographers will be more restricted. So things to consider are: Does your photographer use off camera lights? The number one important factor is does the photographer use off camera lighting. This gives the photographer the flexibility to shoot in any condition and add lights to the scene to create any look they want. If they are a only natural light shooter, the photo shoot is much more limited to the time of day and weather conditions. The photographer may be scrambling to find shaded areas to remove harsh shadows, when someone using lights can just position the subject anywear and position them to have flattering lighting. On camera flashes are completely out of the questions, they produce ugly lighting all over the face that is never flattering. If you photographer is using an on camera flash full time, you might as well us a point and shoot camera. Time of day Choosing the perfect time of day is very beneficial for the wedding portraits. It all depends on your photographers style but generally the best time of day for photos are thirty minutes before sunset and thirty minutes after. This time of day produces the most dramatic effect for the background and often produces flattering lighting. The worst time of day is around noon when the sun is directly above and produces ugly blotchy shadows all over the subject. Often photographers will bring the subject under a shaded area to get away from the harsh sun. Weather The best type of weather for a photo shoot again, all depends on your photographers style. It is often said that blue sky's with big puffy clouds are preferred for wedding photos. This gives great dynamic range in the images. Often dark dramatic rain clouds add amazing emotion to a wedding or engagement photo. The worst weather tends to be flat grey sky that does not give much flex ability for the photographer. When it is very bright it can cause problems also with using lighting and having the subjects eyes stay open. So these are great things to consider then choosing a wedding photographer as lighting is the most important aspect of photography. These tips can hopefully help you plan your wedding day to hit good weather conditions and be aware of important things photographers must think about.
